The Gregg family companies all started from an apprenticeship in 1965.
Same standard of quality and craftsmanship ever since.
James Gregg learned to paint the old way. An apprenticeship under a German master painter in Dayton, Ohio in 1965. Journeyman years with Painters Union Local 713. A commercial art degree. Industrial finishing in a Seattle body shop. By the time he founded the company in 1981, painting wasn’t a business plan — it was a craft he’d spent sixteen years earning.
Four decades later, it’s still a family operation. The next generation of Greggs runs project management today. The company grew from custom painting into industrial and commercial work without ever letting go of the residential craft it started with.
Today the family companies serve AZ, CA, UT, NV, and TX under Gregg Commercial & Industrial Coatings, Personal Touch Painting, Gregg Custom Painting, and Shane Coatings Services. Same family. Same standard. Quality craftsmanship.
